European Academy for Music and Visual Arts of Palazzo Ricci
Accademia Europea di Palazzo Ricci
The European Academy for Music and Visual Arts (Europäische Akademie für Musik und Darstellende Kunst) is the only German cultural project in Italy entirely dedicated to music. Cornerstone of the Academy is the Academy of Music and Dance in Cologne. In 2000, thanks to an agreement with the town of Montepulciano, the Academy of Music and Dance in Cologne got the usufruct rights of Palazzo Ricci, built around 1540 and located in the center of this Tuscan town, undertaking the building renovation works. After many renovations, the Academywas finally re-opened in June 2001, as a European Academy. Since then, the Academy regularly has regularly hosted master classes held by teachers known worldwide in their respective areas of specialization; at the end of these, the students regularly give acclaimed concerts in the main places of interest of Montepulciano.
