Olive Oil: Who guides our choices? – Talk on October 17th about extravirgin olive oil
“Olive Oil: who guides our choices?” – On 17 October, Trequanda hosts a discussion on guides, recognition and communication in the world of extra virgin olive oil
A conversation on the role of guides, awards and communication in promoting extra virgin olive oil, exploring how knowledge, reputation and awareness are built around one of the territory’s most distinctive products. Organised by the Strada del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano e dei Sapori della Valdichiana Senese, the event will take place on Saturday 17 October at 10:00 am at the Sala Polivalente, Via delle Taverne, Trequanda.
The discussion will be moderated by journalist Antonietta Mazzeo, olive oil panel leader and specialist in virgin and extra virgin olive oils. Joining her will be Sonia Donati, Tuscany coordinator for Slow Food’s Extravergini Guide, and Marco Sbardella, researcher and collaborator of Professor Luca Toschi at the University of Florence.
Their contributions will offer an opportunity to explore how the success of an olive oil depends not only on its intrinsic quality, but also on the way it is presented and communicated. An appealing design, informed by insights from neuroscience, can play an important role in making a product more attractive to consumers and strengthening its position on the market.
At the end of the conference, guests will be invited to enjoy an EVO oil cocktail tasting by Olio del Capunto – Oliviera Sant’Andrea, followed by a tasting of local extra virgin olive oils led by AICOO – Associazione Italiana Conoscere l’Olio di Oliva.
The event is given in italian and itis part of the programme of the Festa dell’Olio Novo, taking place on 10–11 October in Castelmuzio and continuing on 17–18 October in Trequanda.
