GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION OF THE VINEYARD:
In the ground of Montepulciano in the Senese province.
GRAPES OF PRODUCTION:
Sangiovese (also said "prugnolo gentile") 60-80%, Canaiolo Nero 10-20%;
other allowed vineyards can be present till the 20% with a limit of 10% for the white vineyards.
ORGANOLEPTIC TEST:
Colour: rubin red tending to the orange during the aging; bright.
Scent: winely, tending to pronounced bouquet in which the mature susina, the ginestra, the raspberry and mammola dominates.
Taste: dry ground, full and complete; on the light bitter tannic bottom tastes of fruit, spiced and toasted of full complexity dominate; generous and elegant character of long and soft persistence.
Alcohol content: 12,5-13,5°. Total acidity: 5-6%.
AGING:
By the producer: 2 years in wood barrels and sharpening in bottle
By the purchaser: from 4 to 12 years according to the grape harvest; particular years arrives in late age.
VARIOUS NEWS:
With an aging of 3 years the wine can be called "Riserva". DOCG.
GASTRONOMY:
Qualification: dry red.
Accompanyment: roasts of white and red meats; poultry and game.
Service temperature: 18° C.
How to service: uncork the bottle one hour before drinking.
