Bravìo delle Botti in Montepulciano – 3 nights 4 days
At Montepulciano, assist to an historical challenge to gain a special painted drape between 8 Quarters that push 80 kilos barrels through the steep up hill streets of the city for 1800 meters arriving in the main square Piazza Grande in front of the Dome.

Our suggested plan
Thursday: in the evening suggestive recalling of the Corteo dei Ceri parade under the torces light; fireworks and street artists.
Friday: Guided wine tour in a Vino Nobile di Montepulciano cellar and wine tasting.
Saturday: Pienza and Val d’Orcia tour; in the evening “Aspettando il Bravio” celebration and dinner in one of the Quarters.
Sunday: the Bravìo-day: the morning stars with the draw for the collocation of the blastoff, then the flags parade, the traditional fire marking of the barrels, the consignment of the drap , the proffer of the votive tapers and benediction of the bishop into the Cathedral; early in the afternoon the parade, with all the historical-costume dressing characters of the 8 Quarters, will end at 7 p.m., and after the bells of the cathedral have rang, the barrels race starts from the Marzocco column and it ends after 1800 meters in front if the Cathedral in the main square. After the race has finished the winning Quarter will parade and start partying for the victory.

Calici di stelle is the main summer event in Montepulciano. The Strada del Vino Nobile offers an enogastronomic tour in the various Quarters of Montepulciano with wine tastings and a typical dinner under the guidance of expert Sommeliers and never the less various entertainments and music shows.
