The activities
Since then, the Hochschule für Musik has used the Palazzo to host the European Academy of Music and Arts, which today has become a May to October program, and the only German project in Italy to concentrate entirely on music.
The aim of the Academy is to provide a stimulating environment where young and talented artists and musicians from the world over can work together. To this end the Academy hosts master classes with internationally acclaimed teachers, organizes interdisciplinary projects, offers scholarship residencies, and conducts congresses. Increasingly the Academy is being used by Italian cultural institutions in Tuscany and its facilities are now available for the use of any other artistic or musical project.
Because the teachers at the Palazzo Ricci are altruistic and quite content to accept only compensation for travel and accommodation expenses, the Academy is able to provide high level tuition at affordable fees for the participants.
The European Academy for Music and Arts has three important objectives: fostering the highest standards of musicianship, bringing together citizens of the world, and encouraging young people to work harmoniously together. This German musical programme is unique in Italy.
