THE SET OF NEWMOONTEPULCIANO
A walk around to discover the film set of New Moon. And
what set could be a better background to the mysterious
misadventures of the night creatures such as the vampires if
not Montepulciano, home to Vino Nobile, which with its
vermilion colour recalls the vital element of the vampires.
The tour will take you to the famous or less noted places
of the city, that you will recognize or have recognized in
some of the powerful scenes of the film: Vicolo della
Concordia, Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza San Francesco, the
film set for the desperate run by the young mortal Bella
Swan in search of the fascinating good vampire Edward
Cullen.
There’s an obligatory to visit to the Main Hallway of the
Town Hall where Edward and Bella finally meet, set within
the splendid frame of the Piazza Grande, where the
picturesque scenes are filmed of the San Marco festival in
honour of the Vultures.
A stop at the Redi Cellar, an intriguing and mysterious
place as well as the set for a scene of the film, and then
have a look around for the traces of Edward, Bella and the
others of the troupe: for example do you know where the
actors were made up and where they have stayed during the
filming? Or the restaurants chosen by Edward to escape the
commotion and eat in peace a plate of pici?
An original way to discover the city in every detail to take in
all of its fascination.
At the end of the tour, you will be given to you a small
gift from Montepulciano, the city of the vampires, to its
new secret society!
