THE HISTORY OF VINO NOBILE
The continued development of this brand has been over the last 20 years called the ‘Renaissance’ of del Vino Nobile, also if it can be said that its story is involved the legend seem in fact that the wine of Montepulciano has been produced since ancient times. It was mentioned by illustrious and ancient names in 970AD there have been documents that certify the donation of a vineyard to the church by the cleric Arnipert. In 1530 Sante Lancerio, the cellarman of Pope Paul III defined Vino Nobile di Montepulciano "Perfectissmo".
In his work Bacchus in Tuscany (1685) Francesco Redi of Arezzo wrote “Montepulciano of all wines if the King”, and then again Voltaire (1759) in the celebrated Candide even by Thomas Jefferson President of the USA, Bruno Pizzul and Elio and ‘Le Storie Tese’, noted television personalities. Also the use of the word “Nobile” has many antique origins: in fact it was found in many documents in the company books of the historical cellars starting from 1829.
